My sister-in-law died last week.
We struggle with her death for many reasons, especially because she was a hoarder. She died of colon cancer but her cause of death really could be hoarding.
Since her death, I’ve asked myself: What’s the mess I need to un-mess?
This week, let’s do what we can to un-mess our messes before the messes completely derail our life.
We can think about un-messing:
Situations
Relationships
Unhelpful perspectives
Choices
Decisions
The impact of our denial
We can remind ourselves that we can un-mess our messes by asking ourselves this question to begin our day: “What’s the mess I will un-mess?”
What’s the un-mess you will create?

I wrote about my sister-in-law and my complicated feelings for her, especially after my brother’s death, in this week’s Caregiving Reflections.
There are so many messes to choose from, Denise. One we did this week was to get literal un-messers in - we have started having some help with house cleaning! It has made a difference.
I have so many things in the 'mess' category. Having some extra breathing room from house cleaning help will let me address some other messes. Today I did some reworking on my website!
Thanks for your Sunday Questions.
