We do so much for so many during our day that we can get lost to the needs of others while overlooking our own needs.
Let’s be more intentional with our moments by choosing to be clear about the role we’re in. For instances:
Our role could be to a listener.
Our role could be to a parent by effectively communicating about rules and expectations.
Our role could be to a leader to our team by setting clear goals and measurable outcomes.
Our role could be a sous chef while we give another family member a hand with food prep.
Our role could be a good friend to ourselves by resting, enjoying down time and engaging in activities we enjoy.
We can remind ourselves about our choice by beginning our day with this question: “What’s my role right now?”

My role right now as a caregiver is to go easy on myself.
