I appreciate the ability of social media to create connections which can lead to collaborations or friendships or possibilities. I’m much more grateful when I have a point in connecting for the first time. Without a purpose (a point), I can fill up my day with meetings which do not matter. My time is invaluable, which is why I need a point.
To stay on track with the best use of our time, let’s ask ourselves this question as we start the day: What’s my point?
We then can get clear about why we spend our day the way we do. We spend with a friend who gets us so that’s the point. We give time to a charity which works to resolve issues important to us, which is the point for us. We offer time to a project which gives us a chance to use our skills and talents in an amazing way so that’s the point.
Let’s be clear about how we invest our time by posing the question: What’s my point? If we don’t have an answer, we can opt out. With an answer, we can opt it.
What are the points that matter to you?
