A few months ago, I had lunch with a colleague. During our conversation, she spoke about a colleague we have in common and the work this colleague is doing. She misunderstood the inspiration for the colleague’s work so the described the work incorrectly.
As you are reading this, you may think: Who cares?
Exactly!
I used to care too much and would have corrected the assumption.
At this particular lunch, though, I held my tongue. Because I thought, “Who cares? It doesn’t matter.”
Later that day, I had a thought that felt more like a headline: I stayed silent so we both could enjoy our time today.
That headline remains with me, gently nudging me when I’m tempting to be a know-it-all when I can just be kindly silent.
The thought-that-became-a-headline gives me so much comfort!!
Let’s create headlines for ourselves this week so that we keep these headlines in our back pocket, ready to pull out when we need a reminder about what makes us feel good.
We can remember to create a helpful headline about our day by asking ourselves this question to start our day: “What’s my headline today?”
What’s your headline?

This is a great idea. I've been playing around with formatting a daily planner/journal that works for me and I like the idea of writing a headline for the day that celebrates a win. I'm going to try this for the next week's planner/journal to see how it goes.
I steal a lot of your ideas!
