What's My First-Time Challenge?
Let's do something for the first time so we can do it better the second time.
Last week, I hosted a Caregiving Advocacy Conference. One of my goals was to deliver a presentation for the first time without using a PowerPoint and using a few props.
I spent a lot of time talking myself into doing the presentation for the first time that way. Really, I wanted to talk myself out of it. It’s intimidating to try something new in front of an audience.
I did it.
Now I feel better about doing the presentation a second time. I understand how I can improve it.
I would never know how to make it better unless I actually did it for the first time.
Let’s remind ourselves of the gift of the first time we try something. We’re better the second time. We can face our fears by beginning our day with this question: “What's my first-time challenge?”
What will you challenge yourself to do for the first time?
