I’m in the process of buying an Apple Watch, which offers falls detection and emergency assistance. I live alone, I take walks alone. I want to feel safe when I’m alone and walking.
Which is a long way of explaining the inspiration for this week’s question: Watch.
Since I have Apple Watch on my mind, I think about the word, Watch. I’ve been careful about what I watch these days, including avoiding watching any news show. I track the news via a social media platform called BlueSky because its community reflects my values.
We can be careful about what we watch in other ways. For instance, I watch myself so I walk away from drama rather than putting myself right in the middle and basically setting my day on fire because of all the drama I stoke.
We can be inspired by what we watch. For instance, I could take time to watch all the activity in nature. I can be intentional about what I watch on social media and on television to ensure I enjoy what I watch. I can watch my steps so I track my progress with my movements.
We can remind ourselves to watch by asking ourselves this question as we begin our day: “What will I watch?”
What will you watch?
