For many years (too many!!), I’ve been working to grow a thicker skin. Meaning, I’m trying to not take words or actions personally.
I’m developing a healthier perspective about my work in the world. With a healthier perspective, I’m courageous about putting my work out into the world because it doesn’t matter when others say something unkind or awful. If I worry too much about what others will say, I’ll take much too long to put my work out there.
The healthier my perspective, the sooner I release my work, the better feedback I get, the better I make my work.
I like the idea that I’m developing into a better version of myself.
Let’s remind ourselves that we can evolve by asking ourselves this question to start our day: “What will I develop?”
We can develop:
skills
systems
techniques
ideas
habits
I also like that we give ourselves space for imperfection as we develop. Development is a process which means we’ll have good and bad days. The more focus and commitment to our development, the more good days we’ll have.
What will you develop?
