Imagine sitting in a workshop and the presenter never advances to the next slide and simply repeats over and over what’s on the current slide.
The workshop experience would be awful.
We sometimes create a similar situation for ourselves. We may sit too long on an idea, an action or a decision waiting for the perfect conditions.
Waiting too long, though, can put us behind. We don’t have to wait for perfect. We can move forward with good enough. When we go with good enough, then we’ll gather information along the way that helps us to improve. We can’t get better if we’re too far behind.
Let’s advance.
This week, consider what you can advance:
A decision about a new direction
A choice about your well-being
An idea for a book, project or program
A new boundary that protects your time and resources
A new schedule that reflects your day’s current status
A new perspective that helps us move out of drama and forward in our day
We can remind ourselves to advance by asking ourselves this question to begin our day: “What will I advance?”
What will you advance?
