I stopped watching the news a few weeks ago. I also stopped doing Wordle.
I turned these off.
It’s been awesome.
This morning, I turned on Beethoven.
Wow. When I turned off the noise, I gave myself a better experience.
I watched the news because I value being informed. I realized, though, that I can remain informed in other ways that don’t drain me. I played Wordle because I wanted a diversion from the news. The pressure to get the Wordle right, though, added stress. Removing what drained and stressed me makes my day easier and calmer.
Let’s remind ourselves we can turn off what makes too much noise for us by asking ourselves this question to start our day: “What can I turn off today?”
What will you turn off?
