My upstairs neighbor in my apartment building drops something on a regular basis. The drops sound like she just lets go of heavy boxes and overweight bags, letting them land where they will, which is usually right above my head.
In my quest to focus on the positive rather than the negative, I’ll use her hobby of dropping to inspire this week’s Sunday Question: “What can I drop today?”
Unlike my neighbor, we can be strategic about what we drop (and sensitive to what’s below us). We can drop:
making assumptions about our limits and instead allow ourselves to try in order to see what happens.
minimizing our achievements and accomplishments by giving thanks for the well-deserved compliments we receive.
trying to please everyone and instead focus on what we need and want.
We can remind ourselves we don’t have to carry what’s too heavy to hold in our heart or head by asking ourselves this question to begin our day: “What can I drop today?”
What will you drop?
