I regularly remind myself: The big leap comes after a series of small steps. Meaning, the path to an achievement consists of one step right after another.
If I want to write a book, for instance, I need to commit to writing a certain number of words or writing for a certain number of hours every day. If I want to lose weight, I eat healthy meals and increase my activity every day. I take a step every day. I write. I exercise. I keep fruit in the house which I eat for breakfast.
To achieve or to change, I must take a step. I must face the fear, walk with the fear and step forward. With one step behind me, I gain confidence and find my motivation. I keep going. With each step, I gain a vision for what’s possible. Step after step, I feel the new reality I can create. I am an author. I am healthy.
Our question this week takes its inspiration for our need to start with a step. This week, we can begin our day with this question, What step will I take today? With a step taken each day, we get closer to our finish line when we celebrate what we just achieved.
What step will you take today?
