I delivered a workshop to a group of health care professionals on Thursday called “Healing the Life-Long Family Rifts.” During our workshop, I realized that we often focus on drama because we welcome a distraction from what could be painful in our days or experiences. The pain may feel too difficult to manage. We may feel powerless to our pain so welcome a reprieve with drama. We may create drama or involve ourselves in drama or simply sit back and watch the drama play out.
The answer to our pain, though, won’t come through drama. The drama becomes the noise that prevents us from hearing what we need for our healing.
When we have pain, we need healing. Rather than avoiding the pain through drama, we can find healing through our actions, requests and focus. (The Daily Healing Plan and The Daily Recovery Plan can be helpful tools.)
This week, let’s remind ourselves to listen to healing rather than engage in drama. We can set our intention to find healing with this question:
How will I silence the drama to hear my healing answer?
When we feel overwhelmed by painful days and experiences, let’s seek our healing.
How will you silence the drama?
