I think I used to judge rest.
If I was resting, I was wasting time.
Recently, I’ve learned to value rest. When I’m resting, I’m taking care of myself with time. When I rest, I can settle into calm and quiet.
Who doesn’t deserve that kind of serene experience?
Let’s remind ourselves that rest is part of our self-care routine by asking ourselves this question to start our day: How will I rest today?
We can rest throughout our day: after our meals, after meeting deadlines and before we tackle the next task.
We can embrace rest with a healthy habit of taking down time, even if just for a few moments.
How will you rest?
