I learned the hard way that holding too tight is just another way of being out of control. Meaning, I’m grabbing with so much tension because of my fear of what I may lose or my worry that I won’t be okay unless I make this thing or relationship or work at all costs. But with so much pressure, I’ll buckle and then drop what I’m holding.
If I can loosen my grip, I actually can make room for more of what I want. Loosening is a better way of maintaining control because I’m gaining rather losing.
We can remember to loosen our grip to make room for more of what we want by asking ourselves this question to begin our day: “How will I loosen my grip?”
Let’s loosen so we can keep.
