We live in a world that seems to change daily: New virus variants, new weather calamities, new changes in a family member’s health. These changes can seem to create a constant state of grieving.
Our mild weather in Chicago this holiday really makes me miss the snow and cold. My dad now using a cane gives me pause as to the more significant declines coming.
I feel powerless to these changes.
Or, I can decide to help. I can continue to recycle and take care of the world in my neighborhood. I can create my own support so I can continue to help my parents.
You can help, too. You can plan the garden you will plant this spring. You can post messages of comfort on social media. You can offer a smile to a stranger.
Let’s focus on being the solution during such challenging times. We can be intentional about our difference by asking ourselves this question to start our day, How will I help today?
How will you help?
