Every day, we use resources throughout our day that get us through the day.
For instance, we use our car or public transportation to get where we need to be and our grocery store to stock up our fridge. We often overlook resources like our cars, stores, mail service and neighborhood park and instead simply take them for granted. We also may overlook resources like the YouTube channel we visit every day to get a laugh, the podcast we enjoy to receive helpful insights or the friend who simply listens.
These important resources need our attention so they remain our important resources. They are gifts for us.
We can take care of these resources by keeping them running well, by thanking the store’s employees, by sending emails of appreciation. When we give thanks for how these resources care for us, we keep the resources that care for us.
As I wrote this, I took a moment to say, “Thank you, God, for the ability to write.” Writing is a resource for me.
How will you care for your resources today?
