How Can I Be in the Game Today?
We have to put ourselves in so that we can be in position to win.
This month, I’ve been working with a colleague to submit two grant proposals. We have a decent change on being selected for one and a remote chance for the second.
When the worries start about wasting time on submitting a proposal for funding we may not get, my colleague will say, “We’re submitting because we want to be in the game. We want to showcase our work.”
The focus on this outcome — being in the game — feels so much better than the harder one — always winning. Being in the game is the only one way we get closer to winning.
Let’s put ourselves out there this week so we increase our chances of winning. We can remind ourselves with this question to start the day: “How can I be in the game today?”
What game will you join?
